Although I haven't done anything 'official', such as advertising, towards a change, word has got out locally that my 159 might be coming on the market and the guy who bought my 156 a while back came round for a chat. As the conversation progressed, he seemed to be getting quite keen on the idea and I offered him a run in it.
Unfamiliarity with the controls, and probably the metal Ti pedals causing his foot to slip off the clutch, resulted in him stalling it at a junction. Up popped the "Insufficient Oil Pressure" message on the info screen but I reassured him that's normal when the engine comes to a sudden halt. However when he restarted it, then up pops the "Have Engine Checked" message and the amber 'engine of doom' light comes on,
Needless to say, even although engine performance seemed totally unaffected, his enthusiasm for a possible purchase waned rapidly from that point on,
. Despite at least 10 stop/start cycles since then, and the battery disconnected overnight, the EML hasn't cleared so it looks like I'll now be 'investing' in a code reader and fault clearing tool from fleabay sooner rather than later,
Does seem a bit of an over-reaction though from the car. Stall it once and it throws a hissy-fit,
