How to verify that Brera's cam belt was recently changed?
After good experience owing 147 Salespeed for 7 yrs, I've recently purchased 2008 Brera 2.4 from the independent Mazda dealer in Reading who advertised cam belt change (by their garage) as the part of the deal. Initially they did not give me any document/invoice for this service that would prove that they've done it. After number of phone calls they send me a very unofficial looking note stating the the new cam belt was fitted. Given how poor the post-sale service was, their rudeness and the fact that they have not performed any other service they agreed to: new MOT, windshield chip fix and did not produce the PDI report I'm suspicious about the cam belt i.e. whether they actually fitted it.
Q1) What are the things one can look at to tell if the cam belt was fitted 2 wks ago vs original cam belt with 53k on it that has never been changed ?
Q2) If it turns out they were bluffing, what's the best course of action?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
