Just recently bought a Brera after 5 months of searching (see my previous thread), took lots of advice, Mark kindly sent me a War and Peace email on mods to his diesel Brera, which has proved really useful. Finally got fed up driving hundreds of miles and ended up buying a car that was easy to get to.
Having driven all variations, S, 2.2, 3.2 and diesel, I bought a late model with a roof, facelift interior and Q2. Even so, my car needs to be lot lot quicker before I will be happy.
Regarding wheels, I wanted the S rims, but I live in Dorset, north of Bournemouth, and the roads here are terrible, so I have smaller rims, which handle the roads and give a much nicer ride.
Regarding the roof, I closed the blinds once, but it's not worth bothering. The glass is darkly tinted and even on a bright day, it doesn't produce enough glare to close the blinds. I love the glass and it would change the entire experience not to have the roof lining open.
I wanted a white Brera until I actually saw one. So, the S is probably the best value. I have seen a 2.2 S with a leather dashboard, and I have seen a couple of non S models also with leather dashboards. There have been some odd specials produced and options made so I have been told.
