So, the euphoria over finally getting my 159 back after the 12 week-long turbo replacement saga hasn't lasted long,
In the 72 hours or so since her return we've had:
the rear wiper jammed mid-travel, although copious quantities of WD40 seem to have freed it up for now (certainly a lot cheaper than the £200+ quote I got for fitting a new motor)
the sidelights are now on permanently (been quoted £470ish to put that right,
) - anybody know if there is something that'll fix this other than having a new control stalk fitted?
the battery, which is its second one as the original failed after 13 months, won't hold its charge for more than an hour or so (going to the local Bosch centre this afternoon to part with £105 to cure that)
and on a run down the motorway this morning, I became aware of a 'heavy' drumming/thumping from the drivetrain - sounds like a driveshaft on the way out,
, - any ideas?
If I didn't know better, I'd think that these cars are programmed to know the instant the warranty runs out,
Oh, and all 4 tyres are down to about 4mm and the front discs and pads are nearing the end of their life,
. Second mortgage application required!
