159 TBi Ti + remap + exhaust = good upgrade from 156 JTS?
I've started slowly planning for my next car to replace my 156 JTS. I like said car a lot, but at some point you have to question the merit of keeping an ordinary cooking car in tip top condition at 8 years old.
Current likes and dislikes... It's enough fun on a B road, which is where I most like to be. I'd like more performance as a priority, remembering that the JTS underperforms compared to its specs. A slightly better sound would be nice. I get 29mpg and consider that OK. The constant hunt to eliminate new interior rattles annoys slightly, but it's a nice place to be.
I always thought I'd go to a GTA or V6 GT, which are different beasts. There are downsides to those cars though. Anyway, although I love the 159 design, the car's always seemed flawed - the usuals like GM-based engines, heavy, etc. Then I started to wonder whether a modified TBi actually solves enough of the problems, mostly concerning character. Also I recently dreamt about having one. Ha.
So, if I got hold of a 159 TBi, and handed it over to Gus or Adie, would I consider the end package to be a significant improvement over my 156?
