brera spyder roof motor

good evening all.

Anyone else had a recurring problem with roof motors failing? Ours have lasted about 18 months each. Bad enough, but when you do the maths its costing about 20 quid to put the roof down and up!

Mangoletsi have been helpful but I was wondering if anyone else has had...and resolved this problem. cheers

Always a squeaky-bum time when it comes to putting my roof back up.
No problem dropping it, just a constant worry as to whether it'll seal up before the rain comes.
I'm averaging about 300 per year in 'repairs', but so far that's just been for a re-alignment/re-calibration of the mechanism, no new motors.
I've been trying to find a convertible-roof specialist other than a main dealer for when I get another problem (it's bound to happen!), but no luck so far.

I have replaced the flap motors myself which is very easy because one failed and the other was on it's way out. The roof motor failure is very common. It is very important to keep them well greased.

I was told it is very hard to fix the roof closing issue because it is intermitten. I was told the best thing was to live with it. I find after a long drive this helps a lot when closing. I was then told by the garage who did my remap that this is because it re-calibrates the roof system.

I have also installed a smart-top which has also appears to make the whole roof more reliable.

Roof problems

My roof never seems to go down without the flaps dropping to early which means manual intervention to lift them up again. The roof enclosure struggles to rise on its own when i open the roof but shoots up fine when I'm closing it - the roof has also become a lot slower on closing.

I'm hoping it just needs recalibrating as everything seems out of sync

any ideas where or who can calibrate it and what kind of cost I maybe looking at?
