I have been suffering the same problem with rear door unable to unlock. Spent some time and removed door card with no real issues. Got the metal panel all disconnected apart from a plastic connection at the back of it that looks like it connects in some way to the actual lock or that area. Can anyone advise what the plastic connection is and how to disconnect it so I can take panel fully off.
I did manage to get the door open though which was a relief. Wd40'd where i could and tested a dozen times. But this morning after being locked all night wouldn't open again. :-) So have to go in again but could do with removing the metal panel fully.
Any help much appreciated.
I didn't take mine fully off but be careful not to break the plastic window clip if shoving your arm in there as I did.
The plastic connection has the cable running through it and you don't want to break that part, your right, it's connected to the lock by push clip and can be released but I couldn't do it.
Firstly use a fine screwdriver or small hand to release the catch to remove the wiring loom from the lock. Clipped the same was as your speaker wires.
Your best option as I did was to purchase a replacement and then you can see how to remove the plastic housing.
You'll need a small cross head screwdriver to unscrew 2 screws which I managed to do, break the lower clip and off comes the white housing. It's now just a case of moving the parts inside until the door opens.
Another way is just to take a chisel to the plastic housing but I didn't fancy that.
Make sure the lock you get has an alarm.
Good luck, if I can help in any other way I'm happy for you to call, pm me for a number.
