Trouble is we buy these cars (Alfa Romes) and then drive them like they were intended, its a big heavy car, someone mentions having come from a Seat Leon, just check the weight of that car compared to the 159! Normal everyday enthusiastic driving I get 40 - 42 mpg from my 1.9jtdm. Driving much like they would (simulated) for the published figures, I get nearer 50mpg, in fact I did post on here some time ago a trip with the cruise set at 70 from Rugby to Guildford and I recorded over 50mpg.
You only have to do a little research to find all manufactures figures are over optimistic. If you want to get published figures slow up. No thought not, just get on and enjoy the car then or get a blummin Kia or something!
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.
