If something would just break I'd be confident that fixing it would resolve the issue and I'd go ahead and do it.

It's because the symptoms are not consistant (to me anyway) that I'm reluctant to spend money I havent got on something which may or may not fix my problem.

When I first posted it seemed cut and dry, turbo blown, job done, but since then the symptoms have changed and I don't know why or how to explain why that might happen.

Hence my continued posts on here hoping that they might trigger a memory in someone which helps to point me in the right direction (My web searching tonight has found a 55hp clio owner which has very similar symptoms which ended up being the turbo)

I've got 2 days off next week (Mon/Tue) so I'm planning a long weekend of stripping down and investigating to see what clues I can get, and will make a deicision based on my findings.
