Got a call from the wife this afternoon, she went for groceries and took my Alfa 159 with her;
She: "Your car is acting funny and the powersteering does not work but I got home safely". She also saw a symbol of a battery in the info panel.
Me: WTF, you drove home like this?!? (2.5 km)
I Just had a look at the engine as I was affraid the auxillary (accessory) belt had snapped. Luckily, this seems to be okay.
However, I did see some gunk (thnx google translate, hope this is the word I am looking for) on the pulley (?) that was not there two weeks ago when I had the car serviced (picures below)
Did a full DTC scan with MES looking for stored errors, and found the ones below:
full scan log
Steering Lock TRW
ISO Code: 04 07 04 04 68
B1016 - No steering unlock authorisation from Body Computer
TEG Reader TRW (Electronic key)
ISO Code: 6E 07 01 04 4F
B1005 - TEG transponder
Connect (NAV) Marelli
ISO Code: B5 83 85 04 16
B1007 - Internal error
Looks like she was able to start the car, dispite the TEG was not recognised correctly and the steering lock was not released?
However, she managed to drive home like this (2.5 km)
After this I started the car myself, and it looks like everything is working like it should do, including the power steering.
Has anyone had something like this before or has any idea what happened here?
Even more important, what should I do next?
A few of the pictures I made
