159jtd engine management light frustration
After an oil change the engine warning light came on with the usual go to dealer message. I had the garage reset the light and he said he did a regeneration on the DPF . Short time after, a few weeks, it came on again whilst under hardish acceleration . went out after 3 days then did a repeat performance some time later There is no associated lack of performance although today it did seem a little bit jerky just before the light came on AGAIN.
The garage I was using is not a AR dealer but he said his reader indicated it was the filter although other threads seem to indicate that there is always a loss of power if this occurs. so maybe there is some other possibilities ??
My normal journey involves a 15 mile motorway run each day at 70-75 mph and I do very little town work so would not expect a blocked DPF. Is it worth keeping in 4th to run at higher revs and generate some additional heat. My old 156 had a similar problem with engine warning light which i never resolved but this one is more pressing as i need to sell the car . It has 98k on the clock if that is relevent.
any thoughts guys
