Seen this on a couple of the other area's, and know for one I am more interested in spotting fellow 159/ Brera owners (and know not everyone checks the local forms or the main forums with their spotted thread), so wondering if it would work here too, always looking out for fellow 159/Brera owners, yet to get more than an acknowledgement (did manage an index finger raise!).

This end, since owning my car, the street in Leamington has gone from none to three Alfa's in the last 6 months, with an Italian blue Brera and now a black Brera with personalised *** GYK joining in.

Anyone on here?

I drove from Kettering to Leeds this morning in my 159sw A14/M1 and only spotted 1 other 159 - Spotting them is like golddust. Anyway it was a fellow 159 sw 60 plate in Ti guise with roofrails - a beautiful looking thing. Although not as beautiful as the young blonde driving a maserati quartoporte that passed me on my journey!

In almost 2.5 years of owning my Brera, travelling the length and breadth of the country, I've only ever seen about 5 Breras (a few 159d and the odd Spider though).

Then, yesterday, just round the corner from me - another red Brera! But alas, I was in the wife's Leon Cupra as mine was getting brakes fitted!

Daily wave now from a red 159 Ti on the A435 Studley-Alcester road in Warwickshire - took a little persuading

There's another black Brera and the odd 159 en route too, some do, some don't...keep it up, they'll come round eventually, or change their route to work :cheese:

Yes!! That's (most likely) me. I've seen (possibly) you about a few times - if you have 18” horseshoes, it was you, or if you followed me though the city near Halfords a few weeks ago (couldn't see the wheels). As you say, you do need to be quicker to respond ;) When the silver SW followed me for a little bit through the city, I think I spent more time looking in the rear view mirror than on the road, tut tut, just so I could see how 'I' looked to other people (menacing lol!).

In fairness, other 159's just seem to jump out at me from my peripheral vision or a stupidly far distance away. I've had a wave back from a black SW and a red TI in and around the Norwich/Hellesdon area. Got a good look (and wave) at a black TI on the 'being dualled' part of the A11 last week while we crawled past each other at walking pace. Cracking vehicle!

Bit alfa heavy round my way, comparitively speaking, still can't move for fords and vauxhalls though.
aside from the Mito on my street, and a sometimes Giulietta and quite a few 156's. We have Fireman axe somewhere inthe local vicinity in his oft smoking 159... sadly smoking in a bad way. Another red 159 has suddenly appeared on Worsley road, with a pretty grumpy looking bloke often seen with family getting in or out, and I pass a brera further up worsley road regularly. alway parked, never seen it actually moved! On occasion there is also a 159 in black in the local Asda carpark, with a slightly snooty looking chap driving it. never a look nor wave from any of them.
The "wave" was last of any concern to me when i had my wee Mitsi Colt, everyone was at it!

Driving up the M3 today at 8ish i saw no less than 6 heading south only me going North 3 Red 1 Black plus 2 Grey i always see a red Brera heading out of Lyndhurst and we wave or flash hit and miss on the wave front some do most don't lol

But if i keep waving like a loony i reckon i can break em in

The topic of waving and similar acknowledgement to fellow drivers of the same marque takes me back to the days when I ran a couple of Porsche 944s in the nineties :)
We all seemed to do it back then, but this was before every man and his dog bought a Porsche Boxster, and Porsche's were quite rare beasts.

To be honest, it'd never entered my head to do it with an Alfa.
Breras and especially Spiders are incredibly rare where I am, so I might just start flashing my lights the next time I see one. Probably not for the Mito & Giulietta though - the lights would never be off! :cheese:

 i have to chuckle at flashing your lights at cars of the same mark etc as i have a TR7 and by the time the lights pop up and thats an amazing feat in itself the lights flash 30 seconds later and the Triumph coming the other way is long gone lol

but i still do it Thankfully the Brera doesn't have such issue's

I've got a black 159 with anthracite Ti wheels and I've always wondered whether they'd look good black on a black car, but I have yet to see any pics of anyone having done this. So imagine my surprise when I saw that exact colour combo in the Crawley Tesco car park earlier. Annoyingly I only saw it for a split second then lost it. I even drove around the car park trying to find it (sad, I know). Would love to see a pic if it belonged to anyone on here.

McDonald's Cromer Road, that would be me. I'm the manager there, I'm not visiting every day haha. In fact, there was a silver SW there when I arrived today. Belong to anyone on here..? There's also a lovely Red TI on Middletons Lane, occasionally parked on the verge along Reepham Road. There's not many of us about out here in these parts.

This sounds great fun! I see a red Brera all the time think he works at Ageas at Gloucester Business Park and there's a grey 159ti who works near there too. Sadly I'm on my bike and rarely drive. Plus there's a black 159 in Abbeymead I sadly haven't waved :(

@tayo the anthracite wheels were standard on the LE:

I think they look great on a black 159 :)

When ever I'm on the motorway I go Brera or 159 spotting best I've ever counted was 5!

Thought I'd better add the missus drives the car more than me during the week, very much doubt she'll wave! lol

Thanks for your esteemed reply and picture of the 'horseshoe'. I saw one thus equipped at my local Indy a few days back and had to admire. I may even treat myself to a set soon.
I feel sure tat they are much easier to keep clean than my existing 'dartboard' versions.

Was rather shocked yesterday to see a good-looking metallic grey 159 saloon, 06 reg.on a forecourt on offer at £2450. Only saw the front so don't know which model it was but I thought that any one in the range was worth more than that from a dealer. Any price watchers out there?

Got waved at by a dude in a white Guilietta in Richmond Park the other day (I think it was white, apologies if it was you and you didn't have a white car!)...sadly, I didn't realise this might be 'the wave' till after he was almost past me! I tend to see a lot of Giulietta's around - especially in the car park at work but very few 159 or Brera's...

Noticed a white 159 with the 19'' 10-spoke alloys during the week, the first one I've seen in this spec in my area (Preston).
I have a Spider in white with the same wheels, so the two would've looked good in close proximity.
Alas, I spotted it too late to muster a wave or a flash of the lights :(
