So, car was booked in to my local indy on Monday for a DPF delete, Quantum Blue remap, major service and the water pump/cambelt. Oh, and a twin exhaust upgrade like on the 2.4.
Work was done in two days and I collected the car on Wednesday. First impressions - noticeable power increase, particularly lower down the rev range, and has got rid of most of the flat spots. Much more fun to drive given the improved responsiveness. It actually sounds better too even though the exhaust change was mostly cosmetic. Not noticed any smoking either, of any significance.
I have booted it a little over the last few days and despite that, it's done over 300 miles on half a tank of fuel, which is around the 43-44mpg mark. I'll know a more accurate figure when I do a brim to brim test in a week or so. But encouraging.
The DPF box remains in place, just without any internals, so visually, it looks stock.
Very pleased, although obviously early days. I wanted more power with improved economy and I've certainly got the former, and encouraging signs on the latter!
Given the transformation, it's something I wish I'd done some time ago!!
Thanks to all posters on this forum who have discussed remaps previously - really helps when you come to decide on your own!
