Yes I had this.
The exhaust valves were sticking and I had to have the cylinder head replaced.
The new one had a different valve and seat design.
In your case you probably just want the cylinder head reconditioned if its the same issue.
Like you, the EGR and DPF were thought to be the issue, but were not.
It came on during a regeneration and the excess heat started the cycle of vibrations, which would only clear after you allowed the car to cool for a few hours.
Mine would always accelerate and idle smoothly, it just wouldnt cruise without the vibration.
