2.4 Spider, suddenly making grinding noise
The chap who has bought my Spider just called me - apparently the car suddenly began making an awful grinding sound when driving on the weekend. He likened it to the sound it makes when you mis-change with the gearbox and get that horrible grinding sound, only constantly when driving.
His mechanic has said he suspects the DMF has failed.
However, car had a CG Motorsports fast road clutch and brand new DMF fitted only around 18k miles ago in March 2012.
It has not been driven hard whilst I have had it - mostly city driving and motorway with cruise control on.
Car has Alfatune remap and Gus actually reduced the torque of the map a few months after I had it done at my request, so its not even running the full fat remap.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar so I can pass on any feedback to the new owner.
Only drivetrain issue I have had previously turned out to be a master cylinder failure, but this was sorted and car has driven fine since, until now.
Feel really sorry for him - he's only had the car a few weeks.
