So, I've been Alfa-less for 7 months now......and it is beginning to tell......
The Saab Aero is great, does the job very well without any fuss at all. Seats 4 comfortably, goes like stink, sort of does corners and is averaging 34mpg.
But.......................... it is rather boring!
I bought the cheaper car while we are in rented, don't want the additional car load to go against any future mortgage deals etc.
Wifey is still umming and arring over the next house and I am getting very impatient as to the car purchase.
The next car is pretty much going to be a 2.2 Brera S, in Alfa Red of course.
I have spoken to a few owners, and my specialist (SimplyAlfas, cheers for the input Colin). And the 2.2 in the S seems a good overall bet. Manageable fuel costs, reasonable performance etc.
So, in the real world, how does the Brera S in 2.2 guise work for people?
I have a wife, and two sons, 12 and 14. We are very rarely in the same car at the same time. If the boys are with me, then I can see no problems as they will sit one up front and one behind the passenger.
With Wifey and the boys together, hmm, not sure. But again, this is a very rare occurrence. The boys live with their mum in Devon most of the time, and then come to me once a month.
I haven't driven one yet, I'm scared that if I do one of two things will occur:
1. I will love it and buy it regardless of the practicality or reason.
2. I will loathe it and never go near it again.
So, to repeat the question, how do you folks find the car in the real world? Anyone with the occasional kids that use the car? Anyone who uses it for the monthly motorway cruise? How is the S suspension on our hideous roads?
Or, am I being a complete daydreamer thinking I could have this car as an everyday, every occasion car????
