Single wiper conversion...unwanted
I've not had a good day...and it's mostly my own fault, although I am cross with the car too (not sure if it's the car's fault, but it's cost me a new clutch and flywheel recently so it's not my best friend at the moment)
Today, passenger side wiper froze on to the screen. Flicked the wipers on a few times assuming it would shift in a bit, but it didn't. Manually moved the wiper with my hand and it moved freely. Did a dumb thing - moved the limp wiper to the centre of the screen and turned it on (I think I was hoping that it might magically start working if it started from a different position). The wiper didn't move. But the drivers side one did of course, and they got tangled up in the centre of the screen. The drivers side wiper then kicked the passenger side wiper's ass and literally broke it off, shearing the metal. Who'd've thunk the wiper was so strong, or the metal so fragile?!
I now have one non-moving wiper and one stubby little bit of metal that moves flacidly about like a severed worm. I am hoping that it isn't snowing or raining or dropping anything else from the sky tomorrow so that I can drive out to get a new wiper arm. And crossing fingers that a whole new wiper assembly isn't needed. However, I am braced for the worst.
