Thinking of buying a 159 1.9 JTD SW with 160,000km on the clock - am I stupid?
Hello - first time post from a UK expat living in Sweden - I'm thinking about making my first step into Alfa ownership, having grown out of my Skoda Octavia vRS that I've been driving for the last three years.
I tested a 2008 159 1.9 JTD SW auto with a LOT of miles - just shy of 160,000km - but one genuine, literal elderly careful lady owner from registration and only motorway miles. The service history looks good - dealer services, cambelt changed at 130,000km and there's no bumps, grinds or anything untoward that I can see. The price, for reference, is 99,000 SEK - but second hand cars over here are waaaay more expensive, so let me just say that it's quite a good price for a 159!
Obviously, it's got a bit of wear and tear (and I'd get the dealer to sort out the stereo which has the AM button stuck in meaning you can only listen to MW radio...) but would I be a complete idiot to buy it? I wouldn't be commuting in it, just doing the odd long trip at weekends.
Any advice, abuse or tips very gratefully received....
