Some of you might remember my timing chain issue a few months back. It has now been changed and the car drives fantastically! However I have come across a stumbling block.... the warranty company.
I claimed and they were happy to pay up, I thought great! Cheque comes through the post and thats where the problem lies. The job costs me £550 at the Alfa Workshop in Royston, but the warranty company have sent me a cheque for £371.80.
They say it takes 3.3hrs to change the timing chain, and that the part costs £128. If I had gone to and Alfa Dealer it would have cost around £750.
Anybody got any advice on how to sort this out? The warranty company said if Alfa send me the operation codes which sets out the time it takes ect they will be willing to pay up, but I spoke to ARUK and they dont really know what the warranty company means. ARUK are willing to help but I'm not really sure how to go about it all!
I said to the warranty company that if Alfa Romeo charge £750, then it should be a £750 job, they are lucky I went to a Indie and it only cost £550. I dont understand how they think that £371.80 cuts the mustard!
Any help would be very appreciated.
