I own the ECU Scan software and each time it goes into limp mode with error code saying DPF clogged, I do a forced regen (probably about 5 times now over about 3,000kms). Unfortunately my daily drive doesn't involve highway driving - mostly urban peak traffic.
I have cleaned out the egr (which was caked in black soot) - it doesn't have a blanking plate (with or without holes).
So in attempt to sort the issue completely, I drilled about 4 holes into the back of the dpf about 25mm long. Then did a regen and the car felt better than ever (in the 6 months I have owned it). The only think I did notice was more smoke on start-up.
I have now done about 600kms since drilling and 3 days ago, warning light came on car went into limp mode. Again same error message. Did another forced regen. Car feels great again, but for how long???
Current data per ECU scan - dpf is 75% clogged (was 65% after the regen and that was only 40kms ago). Differential pressure reading is currently 2mbar when off, 10mbar at idle and 80mbar at 3,000 revs. I did notice a mucher higer reading when doing the most recent regen (around 180mbar from memory) but it dropped down at the end of the regen).
I would love to remove the dpf, block the egr and remap the ecu BUT I don't anywhere here in Australia that does this. What are my options (except replaing the dpf and having the same issue some time in the future)??
