A single loud '' knock ''
Just delivering a few things for my wife around our village yesterday , at very slow speed/circa 20mph , on non-potholed roads , suddenly a knock from under the chassis as though a hammer had hit the underside . Nothing happened regarding car control or sudden leaning over but knowing I already had one rear spring cracked at it's base , I'm assuming there's now two broken springs ???
It's too low to the ground to inspect but it's in for the cambelt job next Thursday , so I'll know then.
Very annoying because I'm due to drive down to Paddock Wood , Kent in 12 days so very little time to get a full shock/spring kit delivered from Alfisti plus get fitted . Seems daft to buy two standard springs just to get safe on the road (quotes from £70 to £120 for new ones !!!!) Alfisti will supply the complete shock/spring suspension replacement for £553 plus delivery ish . I had planned to do this but just not this soon ----- ugh !!! (don't want to spend twice -- two springs fitted then this kit soon after)
What do you all think ----- can I get away with driving this around probably till first week in April , the wheels aren't fouling the arches , nice and steady 50 to 60 mph ?
