egr remap

If I blank my egr do I have to do a remap? Thanks

In short yes. The car will still run, but the 'check engine' warning light will be on permanently.

You can fit a restrictive orifice plate without having to remap, but not a full blanking plate.

Thanks mate. Car is booked in next week for a remap might aswell do a full block on egr

After advice on here I've made a blanking plate with one 8mm hole drilled in the centre, car is much more responsive and no management light. Cheaper alternative until I can afford remap and egr/dpf deletes.

Lots of different restrictor plates available, these either fit before (diamond shape) or after (, rectangular shape, #1 on the image below) the the EGR.
The before options are easier to install, as simply require two bolts to be removed, the before options either have one or three (official Fiat shape) small holes. The rectangular option requires these two bolts, plus another four before removed. Most people seem to be happy to have them fitted without extra gaskets.
