Another HID question
Hi everyone. Been a reader for years when I had my 156 (10 years), now I need help with my 159. Its a 58 plate 1.9JTDM SportsWagon model (grey if that matters!!).
The dipped lights seem terrible. On dual carriageways, it seems like they aren't even on. This sounds like a daft question (and I really expect the answer is no), but does the car sense the light levels around and dim the lights? This is not a feature I've ever heard of, but if not then they are simply appauling. I would be better waving my maglite out window!!
I have replaced one blown bulb a while back and I have read many people saying the buld is probably upside down (tab should be at top), but the bulb holder on the cluster has a gap near the bottom for the tab, so it won't fit any other way round.
I replaced the H7s on my 156 a few years ago with 50w HIDs and never looked back - brilliant difference, so I see this as the only option for my 159, but...
I have checked various websites and there is no kit suitable for the 159. Hids-4u, hids-direct etc. All return no kit. Does this mean my car can't take HIDs? Surely not a modern reflector type cluster?
Its the normal halogen headlights at the moment, so standard H7s.
- Do I need a canbus kit?
- What 50w 6000k (or I suppose 35w if necessary) kits would you all recommend?
Also, I can't find an adjustment screw for the light beam adjustment, which will no doubt be required after changing - where are they hidden??
Thanks in advance,
