Spider 2.0 JTS

Spider --> 159 owner

Hi, I have been a faithful spider owner for 5 years and I have fell in love with Alfas ever since. I plan to buy 2007/2008 2.2 JTS 159 (27000 miles) this week and would like to get some advice from my fellow alfisti..

What sort of service history should a well maintained 159 have? I do long commute on motorway and the last thing I want is mechanical issue.

I've learned that JTS has a chain belt instead of rubber. What is the correct timing belt change interval?
I also read that front tyres may show some signs of uneven wear and that the gear change may become a bit 'notchy' over the years.

Can you think of any other important serviceable parts that should be changed after I buy the car? apart from the usual break pads, tyres, etc

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Alfa Romeo is a kind of disease... It's hard to define. It is one of those irrational human traits that defy logical definition.
