I have been looking at buying a 159 for the last six months.
I want a 1.9 JTDM Lusso in Black with Cream Leather trim. Everyday I religiously check all the recognised “ad” sites and all the local dealers in my area.
As this would be my first Alfa, and as much I am sure that the rumours about reliability issues are much exaggerated, it still makes me slightly nervous about buying an Alfa from an unknown source and possibly miles away from my home town.
Plus, the purchasing of an Alfa is not so easy, as there are relatively very few 159’s around on the second hand market, unlike German cars which are extremely common (another “unattractive” aspect of Beemers and Owdees)
Then, only this week “out of the blue” an Alfa 159 Lusso appears in a local garage in my town, but unfortunately it is not Black, it is Stromboli Grey with black leather trim.
I went to see the dealer and test drove the car and it is stunning. The price was right and the dealer has a good reputation in the town.
Here is a pic of the car in question - http://www.embryon.me.uk/Upload_Down...mboli_Grey.jpg
So, the question is, do I........???
a) Buy the baby, and enjoy my Alfa, knowing that the garage is local and will deal with any “Alfa” niggles that may occur
b) Hold out and wait for a Black to come up for sale in my area
c) Travel the length and breadth of the county to get a black one and hope that there is no problem with it once I drive away.
Your kind thoughts please
