[QUOTE=metalgod23;5213450]Did you leave the car on front tyre ramps while the old oil drained out? Does it drain all of the 2.3 litres out that way? I ask because e-learn states 0.2 litres remain in the gearbox for normal draining and renewal and full quantity to be filled only when gearbox is rebuilt on bench.
Yes the car was parked at front tyre ramps during the process of draining. I believe it all went out, as the drain-plug is placed at low rear end of gearbox.
I drained very close to 2.3 liters and refilled with 2.3-2.4 L of new oil.
The gearbox has very smooth shifts, but actually it also had that before changing the oil
What I think is different now is the sound from gearbox when driving in ex. 5 gear, whichs seem to be more of af low frequency noise/sound. It sound more healty
The rolling noise which have been bugging me for nearly one year is still there.
I have investigated it further and it might be left front wheel bearing which I will try to replace next weekend.
I plan to change the gearbox oil every second year from now on.
Thanks for responding to the DIY guide - and pointing out that oil can be changed without removing battery, that makes it a hole lot easyer job
