Remap 159 q4 3.2
I`ve got a (beautiful) 159 Q4 3.2. As I must go to the service shop soon (replacement of leaking oil temp sensor) I have been offeered to remap on the ECU. I do not want nmore power, but think it would be good to have a broader range of torque through, particularly, at low revs.
I know that remaps cannot do so much on N/A engines, but have been assured by the service shop that I will get anyway not a more powerful but a smoother engine.
However, I am concerned taht compression at the GM -Holden V6 3.2 which run our Alfas is set at 11,25: 1, and on remapping the ECU. one of the parameters which shall be modified is the spark timing. I am worried that If I use RON 95 fuel after the remap (what I usually refill, as it is much cheaper in Spain than RON 98) I could damage in some way the engine due to the spark timing issue.
What do you think about it, any recommendation?
