Berra Coil Springs

New to the forum not new to Alfa ownership having had 156GTA and a Brera. Trying to change rear coil springs on 2.2 JTS. Struggling that the shocker/coil assembly is lomger than the gap available. Using spring compressors to no avail. Do I need to take the bottom bolt out of the rear hub assembly and move it up? Do I need to remove torsion rod and drop rear arm?

Assume fronts just unscrew boltsand drops out?

It will tell you what you need to know, but please be careful. The technique is not fool proof.
