Ok.. got the new Reservoir fitted a week ago and it looks to have solved the issue... I checked the fluid with the enging running after a couple of long journeys and there is not a ripple and no foaming at all.
The only problem I have is that there is a slight but noticable groan when the car is idlying at say just over 500 revs, if I go to 850 revs, its gone. Its not getting any worse but its just very annoying. Is this a "Feature" of the re-conditioned pump fitted that I'll have to live with..?
I just have one stupid question too, when checking the level of fluid in the reservoir, should you just put the cap sitting on top of the opening or screw it closed to get an accurate reading..?
Anyway, A shameless plug, I'm getting two new tyres on the car at the weekend and have the NCT test booked for two weeks. I'm going to put it up for sale then. I just got timing belt done 2 weeks ago when getting new steering pump fitted (with 64k miles on it). If anyone is interested in the car here before I put it up for sale on Carzone, its in the Dublin area.
