I am also very happy with my Spider. "Nimble" and "agile" are the last two words used to describe this car. It's a big, heavy, beach cruiser with a small(ish) engine; therefore, you can't expect sparkling performance. However, it's fun to drive if for no other reason than the fantastic styling. You really do feel like a playboy, especially with the top down.
I put Eibach springs on mine, which helps the handling to some degree, but it ain't no race car, that's for sure.
Nevertheless, the Spider is very much my weapon of choice for exactly what I'm doing a little bit later this morning. My wife and I are driving from my home in Italy over to France for lunch, a two hour trip. Just after crossing into France, we're going to get off the Autostrada and cruise the coast roads with the top down if the weather forecast is accurate. I will be doing my best George Clooney impression behind the wheel.
Our route includes a tour of the track at Monaco followed by a nice lunch a few km further west and then home via the Autostrada. Other than a propensity to not start when it's far from home, the Spider will be perfect for this mission.
