Removing 159 oil filter

I need some advice please.

I have a 159 1.9 Diesel 06 plate which i love to bits and now everyone at works does too (great cars) but my problem is removing the oil filter and my chain type remover keeps slipping off wont tighten up onto it but i thought this doesn't matter as i have a full set of the round oil filter removers but not bloody one of the 16 fit how frustrating when you've already dropped the oil.

what size is the oil filter cap and what tool do you use to remove them ?

I'd searched everywhere for the correct filter removal tool but the only one recommended was the rubber strap variery. Opie oils do a variety of different caps which one may do the job. I could do with dropping the oil on my 2.0 jtdm which i presume has the same filter housing so will watch this thread with interest.

I wouldnt use a chain strap, it could damage the plastic housing, I have one of these made by Facom that I've had for years and works fine on my car.
Though in the picture the strap does look a bit long
