Nah, fuel pipes are the same in petrol and diesel cars, they will be fine.
The car will have stopped because diesel engines work on compression ignition, and petrol engines work on spark ignition.
No diesel = no combustion cycle = no running engine
You can put enough diesel into the cylinder to ignite and that will be enough to ignite the petrol as well which will make it run (it might be rattly due to the different burn propeties of petrol and diesel, but it'll work)
It's much the same principal as running a diesel car on LPG, it'll work fine but you need an amount of diesel in there to create the spark in the first place.
The issue you have is that the lines and filter are currently full of unleaded, if you can get rid of that and get a mix running through the pipes you'll be ok.
