159 replacement navi

Anyone installed this Alfa Romeo 159 (2005-2011) GPS, OEM replacement Media System - Car Vision UK It promises much but is it ok? I think it looks just right and not like an aftermarket unit.

i would have seriously considered this unit had i known about it..but just installed this XAV-601BT Double Din media station with built in Bluetooth CD/MP3/DVD/DivX

and it seems no extra parts to be fitted pull the old one out and slide the new one in.

Brera 3.2 V6 Q4

Looks great, but from the customer comments looks like the unit is not actually in production yet !

Would be great to know when it will be available and what it is like !

This company CarVision Uk has a British address. I wonder if someone of you living there has ever really tried to contact them to ask about the availability of this mystery machine.

I looked at this but decided it looks a bit 'chinese cheap copy c**p' (the buttons and design look a bit clonky imho), and no info on whether it supports tmc etc put me off...

that sony one doesnt have satnav as far as I can see??

Why do we want a DVD player on the car? Wouldn't distract from important things, like driving?

I look for a neat sat nav/CD/radio/mp3/blue&me unit. That would fit the environment.

i'd rather stick to big brands like pioneer, keenwood, alpin ect., so many uncertainties on those no-name brands. have a pioneer avic f930bt in my 159, works like charm

I've fitted a kenwood unit into my 159 which gives me satnav, bluetooth, i-pod control, dvd/tv etc etc and full steering wheel control functionality.
It was very easy to fit although I had to be very careful not to damage the aluminium dash finish.

This unit has now been in the last 2 saab 9-5's and now my 159 and its still going strong.
