Alfa Romeo 159 door panels dismantling
i'm drivin an Alfa 159 (full white/grey interior). Last week i purchased and installed a leather interior (also light grey) from a donor Alfa (scrapped). And i've never seen any Alfa 159 like mine, so I was over the moon to find this leather interior. That alfa also had the leather inserts in the doorpanels but unfortunately the upper rim of the doorpanel was black. In short: they did not fit into my interior but I took them with me anyway.
Question is, what to do now. As far as I can see from those doorpanels, the leather insert is indeed a separate panel. But on the back side it is fully glued to several black pieces of plastic. I suppose that's for the integrity of the panel. I did some tests on the glued pieces but it's damn near impossible to get them off.
So now I'm at a standstill. What would you guys recommend I proceed with now? Just let it go or should i bring those panels to some expert. I know ordering new panels is totally out of the question, they would cost me around 280 euro's ex VAT ex montage. Is it viable to have my own 'inserts' redone in leather by a specialist?
Perhaps there's someone here who has experience with such things ;-)
