159 2.2JTS Selespeed behaving like auto gearbox
I have this weird issue with my 159 2.2JTS Selespeed. The car is around 4 months old and approximately 3,500 km on the odometer. Sometimes it feels like I am driving an automatic car. Let me try to describe this a little more as best as I can...
When I am driving the car in 1st gear, on low rpms, the gear may, and I say "may" is because it does not happen all the time, behave like an auto gear box. What I mean is that when I lift my foot off the throttle, the car instead of stopping will continue to move. This movement is not because of momentum. Why I say that is because, the car can even climb an incline of around 30 degrees. I tried this out in a multi-story car-park and the car on 1st gear could climb several floors. Does this makes sense at all? The car is in Manual mode.
I used to drive a 147 Selespeed and never encountered this "auto" experience before. When I lifted my foot off the throttle, the car would slowly come to a stop like how a manual car would unlike with the 159 which continues moving.
There is also hopping in 1st gear at low speeds which I am not sure if it's related to this issue or not. This hopping makes the car rather difficult to drive in traffic crawls. If I time it perfectly well and if I could estimate when the "hop" may occur, I can then avoid it. However, recently it has gotten a little harder to predict. Again, I am not sure if this hopping issue is related to the gear issue I posted above.
Has anyone experienced the car in 1st gear behaving like an auto gearbox car as described above or could provide some insights as to what might be the cause of this?
