Let's put this another way....
Ok gents.. I have the 2010 Navteq Map SD Card with just over 3GB of data/information as it's for the whole of Europe. Has anyone been able to successfully compress or copied this somehow for use on a RadioNav unit which currently uses a CD RoM?
I realise that CDR's can only hold a maximum of 700MBs so unless the folders can be copied successfully and loaded independently i.e. map of italy only, I'm stumped as my knowledge goes no further.
I tried to copy a folder over accessed via the SD Card within a reader onto my laptop and it didn't like the CDR which makes me think it needs formatting. I read somewhere that Alfa use Lame/Blade/Xing/Franhofer which are compression systems but now I'm lost again...
Anyone with the tech knowledge out there?
