Brakes are a bind!

Hi all,

Some advice needed please. I recently took my 2 1/2 year old 159 to a main dealer as something didn't feel right re vibration through the brake pedal when it was depressed. It was diagnosed that my rear brakes were binding and the dealer said that the capilers might need changing and that it was quite a common problem given the 'exposure' the brakes get to the elements with the ti wheels.

Anyway, they cleaned up the rear brakes and lubricated them etc, but said that this work was not covered in year 3 of my warranty and charged me 131! Now that was a week ago and the problem has persisted. It's affecting my fuel consumption and although I never get better than 20
to the gallon in town, it's now down to 18.5! I obviously need to take the car back, but if the rear calipers do need changing, are they right in saying that it's not covered in year 3 of the warranty?

The adjustment and lubrication is technically service, so wouldnt be a warranty job.

However if the calipers are unserviceable, in my opinion, the warranty should cover that.

In my experience though, its the fronts that cause the vibration, though the rears are prone to binding and actually need more attention than the service schedule to be trouble free.
