Re: Brera with multispokes
I also think it'd be awesome to see a GTA version of the Brera but I really wouldn't expect to see the Maserati V8 in it. The Brera has a transverse engine installation. I seriously doubt that a V8 would fit in the Longtitudinal position that it'd require. More importantly, the gearbox wouldn't fit. I expect the premium platfor for the Brera and 159 only has a transmission tunnel wide enough for a propshaft, not a whole gearbox.
I reckon that any GTA version will have to be a V6 with forced induction.
If that Maserati V8 is ever going to make it into an Alfa I think it'll be the 8C Competizione, but it'll have to wear a Maserati trident on the grille. Afterall, the current Maser GT does need replacing. I saw a cople last wee and I still think they look rubbish. Certainly not the beautiful italian car that the price tag suggests. Replace it with the 8C and rebrand it as a Maserati (thus saving the development costs for yet another new model) and you'll secure the Trident's future for another 10 years.
