Hi all, sorry about starting another thread relating to EGR situations!
Here's the thing: Been driving on safe mode for a week now
, and today i decided to clean the Egr and the throtle body too, as they sit close on the engine could save some time and money as well, ended up cleaning the MAP sensor to!
EGR was completely stuck on closed position and altough it wasn't harming the car in any way i assumed the EML i've been having all week and the subsequent limp mode/ safe mode was due to it reportin malfunction, not being abble to open or close when neded triggered the safe situation.
Ok, so I cleaned it thorougly, give it a blast with a full can of carb cleaner, soapy water, blown the hell out of it whit a air compressor and even thinked about burning it for a while as to exorcise the thing
! Started moving free from open to closed, so i think it's ok, lets put it back where it should go, cleaned all the gaskets, sand papered every contact surface, and of to the engine you go! Started up whit no trouble, and even seems to iddle diferent, more sparky on take off, 2 miles down the road went in safe mode again! Come on now you bolt bucket!!! What do you want!!??
Now, reason whit me: If i take it to the usual shop i always take it so that they connect it to diagnose, they're gonna spot and erase the errors confirming the EGR situation, if i then take it for a spin (Again
) will it go back on safe mode for anything or will it perform it's monthly Regen and come back from the dead? I'm running out of ideas! Don't want to force a regen as i think it's not very good for the engine to perform it standing still, it's best to do one while on the move and this time i don't think the lack of it it's not the real problem!
Can someone confirm or correct my line of reasoning so that i can take action on time?
Thanks in Advance!
