DPF FAULT/Good Alfa specialist mechanics in west midlands

An ecu reader recently cameup with code p1206 im told this is a dpf fault code. The dpf seems to be over 100% blocked so im not going to drive her until i get the work done. 3 questions really.
1. is it best to remove dpf and remap ecu (i do mainly urban runs so im leaning towards this)
2. how much should this cost (ive been told various prices)
3. where is the best place in birmingham or west midlands to get this work done.

im a new owner and slightly more importantly a new father so i really dont want to get ripped of by bad mechs (i'll only get myself into trouble if u know what i mean )

In Birmingham your best going to "motormech" and get DPF and EGR delete and removal.

A bit out of your way but NJS in Pershore are highly recommended by most on here. I had some work done by Neil recently and can't fault them. The number is 01386 555523.

Alternatively, still out of the way but highly recommended are SimplyAlfas in Stourbridge. Don't have the number to hand though.

Motormech will be cheaper than NJS for remap/DPF but I've never had work done by them so can only go off what I've heard from other people A colleague at work had the DPF removal done without incident, but then had to go back three times for them to sort out work they'd done to his steering and suspension.

Motormech did my dpf removal egr delete and remap and I had a problem with fault codes because of the egr, the guy there seemed out of his depth with the problem and was quick to blame the remap people (who arnt Angel Tuning even though there is a big banner outside advertising them) the car, me etc... After a trip to Bristol to try and get it sorted which just made it worse and after a bit of protest they sent someone to my house from the mapping people in Poole the fault has gone but I'm not 100% happy as there is sometimes a noticable 'step' in power at just over 2000rpm.
