With my beloved 159 now gone, in comes the Brera.
Purchased as a work in progress in mind, I started straight away.
First off, I replaced the rear wiper as the previous owner tried to fixed it super-glue.
Then, replace the car mats, not that there was anything especially wrong with them, I just loved the luxury ones I had in the 159, so I went for it, but had these ones properly secured!
Then came the start of the my bigger projects, changing the main fascia trim, the old one was the standard brushed silver Aluminium, but was scratched and marked to death
So yesterday, I was bored, had the bits, had the time, so I decided to get to it, but at the same time, I will install the pioneer sat Nav and dab TV / Radio
With Help from Wynne's tutorial on fascia removal, I removed the gear level surround, then the old head unit (using drill bits on the holes
), air-vents soon followed, but this time without damage
, unscrewed the instruments, swapped it with the new darker brushed aluminium and fitted fine
The gear lever surround on the other hand was a pig to install, almost as if it was too big, took a while but managed to get it all installed. Was scared to death of scratching it, so used bubble wrap and lots of masking tape! I also removed the keys for the time being
Following that was the Pioneer head unit and Dab radio / tv, no real issues with this other than fitting it all in, it is a very tight squeeze and still needs a little adjusting, but happy with the results:
(4-6 hour job including a clean)
Replace the side aluminium trims on the door,
Replace kick plates (with illuminated ones)
done but need wiring
HID Conversion kit
Minor dent removal (quoted)
Stage 3 (under consideration):
Sports Steering wheel (genuine AR part) + replacing the steering wheel aluminium
Aluminium Sports pedals and foot rest
Stage 4 (under consideration for future project):
Prodrive alloys and suspension
Alfa / Brembo Brakes
