Yeah, a replacement head-unit renders the Blue & Me redundant. The B&M is a standalone module in a cage behind the head-unit, it can be removed if you change the head-unit BUT apparently you get canbus errors. Based on the instructions of another member on here who fitted the same head unit, I relocated the B&M module further down inside the center console (by the passenger footwell) and have had no problems or errors.
The Connects2 module I used was only for steering wheel controls, and had nothing to with Bluetooth technically.
EDIT: Just to clarify, the Connects2 module connected between the steering wheel wiring harness and the back of the aftermarket head unit. You have to buy the Connects2 unit and a patch lead that suits your aftermarket head unit model - I think mine was a CTJVC3LEAD for example, hooked up the to the proprietary JVC steering wheel wire.
