Car: Alfa 159 Sportwagen 2.4 JTDM 154 kw, 210 ps. Year 2007, Bose Soundsystem
My car is now five years old and still has the original battery which I will have to replace.
So I am looking to buy a new battery and that brings some decisions with it.
Today I checked to see which battery my car has got at the moment and I was surprised to find a 70ah battery in there. Most of the parts websites seem to recommend a more powerful battery for my car.
The exact battery details are: Manufacturer: ATR Car Technic - 570 409 064
12v 70ah 640A (EN)
My Alfa manual just says to replace the existing battery with one which meets exactly the same characteristics as the current installed battery.
What do you people think? Should I replace with another one to this spec or go for something a bit more powerful like the Bosch S5?
It could well be that the current battery isn't the best one for my car. I already had the case when I had my glow plugs changed, that the garage said the old glow plugs that they removed wheren't even the right ones for the car anyway!
So, original question - replace with same spec no name battery like the current one, or go for something a bit better? Appreciate your thoughts.
