took a visit to pageant of power. Parked up in a club stand track side, gave her a very quick QD clean and took the roof off...
admired an absolutely stunning Alfa SZ and a 159 in 8c red!

Well, finally got round to dropping off my alloys for refurb and powder coat. The wheels the car came with are the options with a machined finish, looks like the lacquer was compromised a long time ago... Mass corrosion, and many curb encounters. Mainly previous owner.
I've been driving with a set of the standard wheels while I took time finding someone for the refurb... Didn't really want to spend the huge amount to get them machined to new, for a new lacquer coat to fail with the first stone chip. So powder coat it is! Can't wait for the call to say they are done.

Also, stripped the interior door handles (badly scratched by all the window switches) the beige/tan colour was scratched down to the black plastic in places. Tan 'camo' plasti dip is an exact colour match, they look good as new now! Once I'd finally got the stuff to go on smoothly!

Back to waiting for the wheels now!!!!

Brera 3.2 Q4

Just got back from Le Mans 24 - 1300 miles in 3 days - the Brera was amazing and attracted a lot of attention - and I didn't see any other the entire time - very exclusive car!!!

Seen loads of 159s and GTs but overall very little Alfa action.

Stunning Alfa SZ, saw one a few years ago parked outside Jamie Porters Alfaworkshop, had never seen one in the flesh before, again "stunning"

Just added it as my desktop picture, hope you don't mind?

Replaced both front upper wishbones plus rear broken spring (MOT failure) using guides on this forum which were a massive help thanks to all who contribute. Suspension arms 2 1/2 hours total, spring 5 hours, a complete nightmare. Could not remove strut as the lower strut bolt is in the wrong way so had to replace spring with strut in place.

Gave the Brera its first full service since my ownership. It has only gone 5,000 miles since its last service, but that was 2 1/2 years ago. 686.40, which I found a bit breathtaking until I read chrisw081's post!

Firela Motors (Clapham) found and fixed the interior rattle that was driving me nuts (45) and replaced the rear brake pads. They said the left rear was binding and fixed the caliper, too. I had noticed a tug when pulling away after leaving the car sat for a couple days, so that was a good catch. The six-year-old power steering belt was replaced and I asked that they change the transmission oil and pollen filter. Labour was 225.

Firela is keen to replace the timing chain at the next annual service, which should be around 30K miles. I might wait until I have issues first, though. I'm pretty easy on the car.

Funny thing is, the gear lever/shifting seems a bit notchier (is that a word?) than before I had the transmission oil changed. You definitely can't force anything, just guide it and wait for things to mesh.

Gave the car a good wash when I got home. All that waxing has sure paid off!

I used black hole a couple of weeks ago. Amazing on my black paint work. Really easy to buff off.

Did you apply it by hand? Any tips?
