Got a picture of the bend on the exhaust pipe at the rear.
Also found an old video of the exhaust sound and took a new one before.

Cheers for that, got some prices, 6.50 each for 90 degree bends, 10 for 2m of straight, so a bit of heat and some clamps and we should be sorted.

Get a pipe bender or at least a pipe bending spring to prevent the pipe collapsing into itself...

It wasn't a very good pic, but I couldn't see what I was actually taking a pic of!

Drove it to and from work, that simply is enough to put a massive smile on my face!
Showed a few people round it at work (not a very productive day)
Stared at it out of the window for half an hour.
Can't wait to drive it around all day tomorrow on my day off! :-P

ps. I bought it on Friday! :-D

I'd never have dreamt of changing the exterior appearance as much as that. But it looks amazing!! How much & where?

The plan is to use the pre fabricated 90 to do most of the work if it's miles out from what I need there is a supplier who does sections in 10 degree increments. we have a pipe bender at work so I'll give that a go.

I have no idea, done about 5 light coats on the 'V' and then a 6th coat a little heavier, left about 30 min between each coat.

Did the same for the badge, but had to re-do a couple of times because I wasn't happy with it.

The video does it no justice at all...
When under load it sounds awesome! Feel sorry for the guys who do this mod on a brera or 159 though as it sounds even better with the roof off!
The smoke looks worse than it actually is as well...

Cost about 40, done it myself with a spray can and some dry weather, still undecided on it myself! Although I need to think what I want black on the bumper to see if it changes my mind

Other than drive and clean it, not had to do anything (either because of an issue, or because I just want to) to my car for a while now, just enjoying it....the best way to be

Replaced rear badge, so impressed with it I ordered another for the front.

Mended a cracked offside wheel arch liner that I believe was causing noise and vibration in the car, just going to take it for a run to confirm.

Fingers crossed.

Update: another issue sorted, onto the next.

Finally had the rear centre seat belt mechanism replaced under warranty. Almost six months after initially ordered! Don't ask!

So after getting home decided to give it a wash to remove all the finger prints left by the mechanics. They offered to wash her but no thanks I'll do it myself.

All nice, clean and shiny again.

Slight panic as they both looked like they had scratches but some autoglym metal polish and an old sheet to the rescue... No wire wool as it made a right mess of my existing pipes at the weekend
Are you just sticking them straight on? I need something for my 1.9 Lusso, the tail pipe looks so ugly!

They clamp on and will fit between 35 and 60mm with their own fittings, in my case I think I'll be using a normal exhaust clamp, these are the guys I got them from:

Do the 2.4's have the same exhaust pipes as the 1.9's, only a bit of straight pipe before it curves?

Now to choose the one that looks most like the TI tip.

Some pics from today
Mock up:

Difference in angle which I need to take out, the excess from joining to the existing system. This pit of pipe will then go on the other end of the bend to bring the trim out to the right position

I was having a look at this today, the difficulty is that the pipe from the back box is blended into the trim. The issue will be blending in the internals of the old pipe with the new trim without seeing fresh air, this is one of the reasons why I'm doing it the way I am.

I spent Wednesday washing and polishing the Brera. Thursday, I waxed. This was all in preparation for attending the Italian Bikes and Cars meet at the Ace Cafe Thursday evening. I'm glad I spent the time on the car: I have never seen so many well-detailed cars parked outside a bikers caff!

I posted a thread in the Image Lounge:
