Touched up some minor and not so minor scrapes and pits in the paint. Need a few more layers before wet sanding. I read about the tbi having chromed exhaust pipe ends, so took off the black soot from mine, and indeed it is chrome under there

Turned 100K in the old girl on the A66 today

IMG_20140227_133930.jpg

She is stronger, smoother, faster & more refined than the day I picked up up with 60K on the clock!

New external temp sensor fitted, and a badly cracked airbox also replaced.

Stripped out the Blaupunkt bluetooth thing that was in my car and fitted an aux lead instead. Cost just over 8 (and a bit of skin off my left middle finger) I can play my iPod, the radio display now works properly for the first time so I'm happy.

Before it gets too dirty, get some CarPro CQuartz paint protection on it!

I'm putting autoglym high resin polish and then extra gloss protector on it. It looks amazing without all the stone chips!

Yesterday, I drove to Croydon to meet the man who is taking delivery of my new tyres and rims from the Tyreleader and Rimstyle internet sites. When I got home, my favourite parking space was taken by an eyesore Fiesta and I had to park up the street.

This morning, I went to have a look at the parking situation. It took me 10 minutes to clean the bird droppings off the Brera. The two coats of wax I applied last week made the job easy - no signs of pitting at all. Then I moved it to a place not under a tree.

Bought a few detailing starter's kit products for the boy, both for the interior and exterior, waiting for the winter to give me a break so that i can start cleaning the beast thorougly. Cruised arround town in it to run a few errands and it felt really nice driving my Alfa today, it really is a cool car for bad weather driving, i wonder what it would be like to have some sort of DNA system OEM installed on the 159!

Got a large chip in the windscreen on Thursday, it's now 10inches long . Luckily have windscreen cover, so only 75. Read elsewhere it's normally 750...ouch.

Also there was a small chip in the middle of the windscreen from when I purchased it which has always bugged me.

Took my 4 year old boy for his first trip down to Duxford in my 159, averaged 46mpg which I was quite happy with. Spent a very enjoyable 4 hrs there and averaged 42 on the way back... Must have been the extra 5mph and uphill!

Checked my MPG since my AHM map a week ago. Used to be averaging 34mpg, now it's 44 after 800 miles of varied motoring. Very happy boy indeed.

Removed both rear seat head rests. No one with legs could sit back there, anyway, and I'm trying to maximize what I have of a rear view.

Ran a wire down the little drain hole under the petrol cover. Water tends to pool in there after rain or washing. Then blew down the hole with a can of compressed air. Seems okay.
