My Brera had a full valet & hand polish in readiness for our return trip to Italy starting this evening.

Home to Folkestone tonight, 06:50 Eurotunnel tomorrow the on to Strasbourg via the historic pits at Reims.

Overnight there then on to Menaggio via some lovely mountain passes. There for 5 nights then heading back via Reims. Home on 30th

Driven it quite a bit after all the recent maintenance. Feels very smooth, quiet and comfy.

Just filled up with fuel, the trip computer has become even more optimistic though

Took it in for a front bumper respray as I was getting tired of looking at flakey paint. Also, received my Pioneer Avic 940bt this morning, just need someone to fit it for me now

Tapped mine on the bottom, and told it (in my head) that I'll wash and polish you on Saturday in readiness for the Surrey B-Road blast on Sunday!

Finally put the 17" rims onto the car after having them vinyl sprayed in matt black. Still needs a little bit of checking over by my mate who'll also be detailing the car but off for a service at Jamie Porter before I have that done. It's gonna be an expensive month...! >_<

Garage
Driven it all day long. (ran out of diesel on the Pajero/Montero and wasnt very much in the mod to spend 100 € in refuelling). Then went for a long long long errand, of about 500mi and notticed that after a while driving it italian style all of it's knocks and bangs and crackles go away, leaving only a perfect italian common rail diesel engine sound, as if you were listening to a switz clock working at the brink of the time!!! It even Regened the DPF twice, and i can tell you that after the 2nd time the car went rocket, perfectly noticing the change. Happy whit it again, that is. Still, was getting kind of a Pajero groupie, what now?

Shampooed the carpet and it's looking better, but it still stinks of coffee. Will shampoo it again tomorrow afternoon. The mat is looking and smelling okay though.

Had the engine changed due to coolant leak on cylinder 4 in the head which cracked due to the sudden temperature raise when the engine ingested swirl flaps on cylinders 2 and 3. Needles to say, the swirl flaps gave the engine "digestion problems" in form of damage to the head, pistons and cylinder walls.

Just ordered a brand new set of the original 19 inch Ti multispoke rims.
The original Ti sideskirts will get fitted next week.
I never found the perfect Tbi as TI wich is why i bought a lusso but after this there wont be much difference except i got more compfortable leather seats (i had a Ti before ) and it will be slightly lower with the eibachs.

Blown Turbo urg

Hi, I have a 159ti that blew its turbo into its engine leaving the best course of action to replace the entire engine inc turbo; does anyone know of a reputable Alfa engine reconditioner or a breaker known to have running 2.4 210 engines? The car is currently with AHM who in keeping with their quality of work will source only an Alfa Reconditioned Engine which over 4k is outside of our budget.
Thanks
Chris
