Bit slow to post, but Saturday saw the standard air filter replaced by a K&N filter. Now trying to decide if she is feeling more responsive or whether that's just me putting my boot down more!

I'd be interested to know as I will be replacing mine with a K&N drop in filter

I'm discussing a remap of mine with Angel tuning and asked if it was worth doing an air filter at the same time. Here was their response....

Its not really in all honesty, its a lot of money and its a real pain in the ass for you to remove and clean every 12k! The original airbox design is so appalling that no matter what you put in it, it isnt going to be very good!

Paid for the Tax, had a new anti roll bar link fitted and a new parking sensor. I think I have got this car selling business wrong, dont people usually let bits go wrong then sell them not fix it and sell it?

Drove her for the first time in two months today (I've been overseas for a while and she's been in the garage).

That was, however, after I had to rush out to get a new battery, as the old one had been had been killed by the cold!

Feels a lot quicker than I remember, but that's probably because I've been driving a 2.5 ton Dodge Ram for the last few weeks!

Upgrade time !

Since I now have two cracked rear springs and the arches are almost resting on the tyres --- I decided to upgrade rather than replace standard springs. WHY ? --- well standard springs come in at several differennt prices , anything from 70 to over 100 each !!!! So I've bitten the bullet and ordered BILSTEIN B6 shocks plus EIBACH PROKIT springs all round . Mad ??? possibly , but when the Eibach springs are 135 euros for 4 , it makes you start looking at shocks as well . They are 129 euros front and 125 euros rear -- multiply that lot by 0.86 for sterling and the upgrade looks a bargain , at least when they come from ALFISTI.NET
Not ordered but on the cards are Powerflex adjustable top bushes for the front plus the huge lower rear bush , to replace that stupid sloppy rubber one which makes any adjustment to the front end a total waste of time.Even a new one moves around like a jelly !

In for cambelt Thursday too -- phew !!

Washed 1500 miles of dirt, salt and crud off it. It had turned Grey!

Its Shiny again, although I have managed to pick up some alloy damage from stones. one impact has left a 1mm deep by 8mm radius hole in the inner edge of the rim! looks like a bullet hole! Not bothering with a refurb (again) this year, will leave it as it is too expensive to keep doing.

Oh dear.

Tell us more as I always fancied the idea. Although it's less likely now I have an Brera S.

Didn't you get it done here PW Pro - Swissvax car detailing, window tinting and vinyl wrapping in Mansfield, Nottingham UK They seemed very professional.

Came from the local dealer with no mats. The material/colour was just not right. For almost the same price I bought a new set from Ebay.it a minute ago.

What mats did you get?

I got some off eBay, they are ok but not a great fit but they've done well to collect mud since I've owned the car

Had some new Hertz component speakers fitted in the front with some sound dampening and a 600w Planet audio amp and a sub in the boot. Improves the sound brilliantly on my Pioneer head unit.

The only snag is the that sub is in the middle of the boot and is bigger than I thought. It's a good job I asked them to make it removable for the rare occasions when I need the space.

My quote was close to that but by the time they got springs in stock and ready to post , the total with delivery was 597 --- exchange rate I suppose , unless the new delivery of springs had gone up. Having said that , the delivery was only 17 euros !!!
What I found amazing was that the kit was only sent out of their depot at 5-20pm Tuesday and it arrived this morning at 9-00am !!! 2.5 days .
Cambelt plus all other moving bearings and w. pump was done yesterday . Started at 9-30am , was working on another car's brakes as well but was all ready to collect at 1-00pm --- great service from Paul at A FOR ALFA. Just waiting for him to fit me in for the suspension kit fitting.
