Loaded up the skis so the wife could go skiing for the day! I'm sat at home looking after the girl and the puppy! I get to watch the rugby uninterrupted later though!

Accidently washed my key for my Brera.......Then watched the windows automatically come down and the boot pop open all day......Thankfully I have a spare key and removing the battery of the washed key has resolved the issue...... :-)

Driven it for some fast miles in the afternoon after proper oil change (150€, fookin gangsters), brought it back home and couldn't avoid being ****ed at it as the knocking sound persisted! I'm really considering the option to disassemble it for parts selling and buying a 2.8 ITD Mitsu shogun (My teenager dream car!).

Finaly fitted my turbo blanket, then the snow stopped me doing any more.

If the weathers better tomorrow I can carry on with the other modding work I started.

Excuse my ignorance but whats the purpose of the blanket?

Fair question.

Heat raps, or blankets reduce under bonnet temperatures reducing heat soak in to the engine and its components this in turn should aid the efficiency of the rad and intercooler. This should then inturn reduce the charge tempreture to the inlet manifold meaning the the charge is that little more dense.

Also heat is energy, and gas expands more the hotter it becomes. More heat kept in a turbo manifold or inside a turbine housing equates to more pressure (energy) that can be directed through a turbine wheel, improving turbine performance, and subsequently compressor performance, for an increase in overall boost pressure and a decrease in the time it takes to build that pressure.

This is not going to give me huge gains by any means, but when all these little things are added together along with the bigger mods it all adds up.

Hope this helps.

The "Alfatune" full works
60mm Core Full size RS500 FMIC
AEM W/M Injection
Koni struts / Novitec springs
Grooved & Dimpled discs and pads
19" Prodrive wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Halo's HID's & LED's
Hub dyno'd at well over 500lbft at the wheels ! and that's limited.
Thats over 750 Nm for you figure fiddlers

Arrived home after a 3 day 800 mile round trip of the UK through some of the worst driving conditions I have had to endure yet! Horizontal rain + sleet + Gail force side winds.

No back aches, leg aches or head aches and the Alfa is by far the most stable car I have ever had the pleasure of driving!
