I bought a metre when I did mine and had loads left over.

On another note I actually drove the Spider yesterday. First time in a month. Since buying the Abarth I hadn't driven her, but having just replaced both rear wheel bearing I thought it would be a good idea.

The drive also convinced me that if I can't get a fair price for her, I'll be keeping both of them.

just fitted my new pipercross filter element, which went fine (not the most robustly secured these filters are they?)

all dandy until I notice on the little test drive round the block that I have a an annoying squeak from my nearside, probably suspension set up. It just had a new upper arm because of a perished bushing, and now this....not sure what it might be

Gave the 159 a good wash. Starting with a proper snow foam (having found all the pressure washer bits hiding in the attic, shed and garage), and finishing with AG Aqua Wax. Actually not finished - decided to give the engine bay and interior a once-over as well.

Looking good.

Had another check engine fault code looked at. Same as before, it looks like I'm on a path to a cam chain :-( But advised I don't have to consider it urgent.

Had it done at a vinyl wrapping place - not sure how much vinyl they had to use.
Not something I would attempt doing myself.

Most difficult part is knowing how the whole console comes apart - this video is the best explanation I've seen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMMPcRAckCY
Even if you have it done by a wrapping place, show them this video.

Would love this steering wheel now, but look at the price - 292.50

Looks good, think a few
People have wrapped their steering wheels too. I've taken the dash out before so it's just the wrapping I'd need help with!

Took my Brera in for its annual service. The main thing on my list was a 5K mile oil/filter change. Then, I had a list of niggly things to take care of.

The most expensive task after cleaning the two camshaft position solenoids (P0013) was the brakes. The car sits for lengthy periods. When I first pull away, there's a "pop" from the rear and I figured the pads were stuck. So I asked the mechanic to copper slip the pads and pins in all the calipers. As I drove away from the shop, I noticed that a tendency for the car to pull to the left (which was so slight, I put it down to road camber) had disappeared. So, money well spent.

I also got a list of fault codes that surprised me (I've posted a separate thread) as my cheap code reader only showed a P0013.

I plan to take the ostrich approach to these codes, until some real symptoms appear.

As it should have, sailed through with no adviseries, even got it cheap because I mentioned Sainsbury's (great shout from someone I work with) got MOT for 29.50.

Asked about an air con service and was quoted 65 but have heard that if I mention Sainsburys again I'll get a good discount

Congratulations. Mine's due very soon...
What's all this about Sainsbury's? Where did you take it for the MOT?
Are Sainsbury's now getting into car repairs as well? I know they're branching out into different things these days with their chain of gyms and buying Argos etc.

brera 2.4 - NERO

Just about to walk to my local tyre fitters and pay for four F1 Asym 3 tyres. Will be putting them on the new 19in prodrives once Ned figures out what's wrong with the engine. Missing it now.

National Alfa Day is an event organised by AROC. It's massive and weather permitting over 1000 alfas will show up. This year it's at Chatsworth house in Derbyshire. It's on this Sunday 10th July. It's on all day so turn up in your Alfa and get priority parking on the show ground with like vehicles.
